It’s a happy time for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are settling into life as a family of three with son Archie.
But in the wake of the newest member of the royal family, little Archie’s, birth, Meghan’s former step mother has spoken out about Meghan’s relationship with her former husband, Thomas Markle.
Roslyn Markle has spoken out against Meghan’s estranged father, claiming that Meghan’s new son Archie Harrison “deserves to be bought up in a happy home”.
She told The Daily Mirror: “Knowing Tom as I do, Meghan would be a fool to have him in her life.
“Repeatedly he has shown to Meghan he cannot be trusted. She must know that now. I speak not out of bitterness, my life moved on many years ago, but out of concern.
“Archie deserves to be brought up in a happy home, not in this vengeful situation that has been created.
“Tom was an awful father. What makes him think he’d be a great grandfather to Archie?”
Roslyn who was married to Meghan’s father between 1964 and 1975. The pair had an extremely turbulent relationship. Thomas’s former wife claims he cheated on her, hurled abusive outbursts at her and starved her of cash. Mr Markle has previously denied these claims.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s mum, Doria has been enlisted for babysitting duties and is said to be adjusting to life as part of the royal family.
“She’s very down-to-earth and always will be, but she’s starting to enjoy the benefits that come with a daughter in the British royal family,” said a royal source.
