Richard Madeley made an awkward blunder on today’s episode of Good Morning Britain, when he let not one, but two swear words slip.
The 62-year-old long term presenter certainly isn’t lacking in on-screen experience, but Richard seemed to forget he was live on early morning TV while filling in for Piers Morgan on GMB.
During an interview with The Voice judge Olly Murs, 34, and winner of the series Molly Hocking, the host seemingly dropped the S-bomb.
Asking 18-year-old Molly how it felt to be victorious in the ITV singing contest, Richard said, “How does it feel when you think ‘oh s**t, I’ve won it!’?”
Receiving an amused smirk from his interviewees, Richard gave a swift apology at the end of the segment, adding, “Apparently I may have said the word starting with S and ending with T then, I didn’t think I had, but if I did, I do apologise.”
This wasn’t the first slip up of the morning for Richard. In fact, he started early, giving Mayor Sadiq Khan some stark advice at 7.30am, declaring that there is “no point di**ing” around when it comes to air pollution.
The bad mouthed blunders didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, with many taking to Twitter to point out the mistake.
One wrote, “Naughty Richard. He said ‘s**t’ on live TV,” while another added, “Richard Madeley just said ‘di**ing’ about on breakfast telly .”
Meanwhile, a third eagle-eared viewer wrote, “Did Richard Madeley just say s**t live on air to The Voice winner??”
Later in the broadcast, the former Richard and Judy frontman had the chance to interview Britain’s Got Talent’s fan-favourite school choir, who wowed judges as they took to the stage to perform Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now during Sunday night’s episode.
But Richard made sure to give some constructive criticism to the group of primary schoolers, telling them, “It definitely wasn’t perfect” before quickly adding, “But that was the point.”
